SYNOPSIS

‘One Good Deed’ is based on ‘The Queen Bee’ – a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. Two brothers set off on an adventure together, and are joined later by their younger brother, Hans. Stefan and Johann are not always kind to the animals they meet on their travels. Hans prevents them from destroying the ants’ nest, cooking some ducks and smoking out the bees.

The brothers reach a castle, and find that all the inhabitants have been turned to stone. In return for Hans’ kindness to the animals, they help him with some difficult tasks that need solving. The spell on the castle is broken and all the people come to life again. The three brothers marry three beautiful princesses.

So you see…. One good deed deserves another!

USE OF TEACHING AND BACKING TRACKS

We recommend that during the rehearsal period the performers become less and less dependent on the teaching tracks, so that they are ready to perform the show with the backing tracks only.

The teaching tracks have all the individual vocal musical numbers provided, but do not include incidental music or reprises. As such, the teaching tracks cannot be used for a performance.

The backing tracks have all the musical numbers, plus incidental music, separately provided in order, allowing the tracks to be run through sequentially, with appropriate pauses for dialogue.
